A Tesco store signTransnational Corporations are companies that operate in a number of countries. They are agents of modern economic globalisation.

Teaching of geography in British classrooms very often emphasises the power of American TNCs such as Nike in shaping the modern world.

Now it’s time to turn the spotlight on a UK firm: Tesco, our very own global giant.

This story will have particular appeal for GCSE and A-level candidates who are studying economic activity and globalisation.

It also examines the role of Transnational Corporations in the transformation of different environments.
